  • Overview

    Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization�s products and systems, with focus on wwan sub-systems. Performs system integration and support of WWAN components, Modem, RIL, framework and UI. Technical knowledge of wireless technologies and protocols such as GSM, CDMA, HSPA, LTE, understands operator certification, test cases, requirements & regulatory process (GSMA and mobile carriers). Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets. Determines and pursues courses of action essential in obtaining desired outcomes.


    • Architects, designs, and supports developing, and testing of WWAN solutions to several highly-complex technical projects. Creates WWAN specifications for the projects. Leads technology roadmap process. Recommends project approach and goals.
    • Support Certification and Carrier certification including implementation, troubleshoot/debug issues and track them in database and communicate with various teams and labs. (PTCRB, Sprint, VZW, AT&T, GCF, Field testing, GCF, Metrico) 
    • Design, development and integration of software components into the embedded software system to be used in Android Mobile computers. (Android Framework, applications services & drivers in Java, C, C++, chipset provider development tools (QXDM)
    • Champions new thinking and creativity in team members to cultivate and retain top talent. Coaches others on how to effectively develop, communicate, and implement new solutions.
    • Prioritizes quality and seeks out improvements in all aspects of the software projects.
    • Maintains keen awareness of competitor products and development direction to help direct designs to surpass the competition.
    • Uses status as a developer of novel and creative solutions to build business and bring positive attention to technologies and services.
    • With other engineering disciplines, develops next generation ideas and solutions to meet client needs before the competition.
    • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
    • May supervise the activities of others.
    • Acts as prime consultant on large projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives.
    • Experience with WWAN test equipment such as network simulators and call boxes: R&S CMW500, Agilent 8960. Write software requirements, specifications and documentation including design specifications and test plans.
    • Perform testing of the Wireless Wide Area Network subsystem (both live and Network simulators) 


    • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required. - Minimum of 14+ years of engineering experience.
    • Demonstrated experience working with a chip set provider is required
    • Master in Engineering or related field is a plus
    • Proven experience supervising the activities of others is a plus
