Overview


The position is for a software engineer who has 3+ years of professional experience working on C#/.NET based projects. They will be augmenting a small team developing Mobile applications and frameworks.

Previous experience developing software for Windows Mobile (WinCE) and/or Android is helpful, but .NET experience is required. An interest in (or previous experience with) RFID or IoT devices is a plus.

At a high level, the job entails engineering tasks such as: analyzing, developing, designing, and testing software for the team's products and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests on a variety of devices running Windows and/or Android OS that constitute a portion of a larger project.
  • Designs, develops and tests back-end web service endpoints, extend database schema and test/profile server application performance.
  • Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific application functionality.
  • Participates and provides some input in project code reviews, Scrum meetings and cross-team design integration.
  • Runs software tests designed by QA; ability to participate in the design of test plans and to provide meaningful and concise alpha-test harnesses for written code.
  • Reviews test results and perform root-cause analyses to identify problems.
  • Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Insures compliance with quality process and standards.
  • Makes changes to or upgrades existing applications and back-end server functionality. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
  • Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
  • Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. 
  • Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments.
  • May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic agile environment.

Qualifications

    • 3+ Years of .net/C#
    • Excellent experience in Android development
    • Xamarin and/or iFactor experience a plus (cross platform tool C# based)
    • Good written and communication skills
  • U.S. Only:
    • Preferred Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required.
    • Preferred Work Experience (years): Bachelors degree and 3+ years or Masters degree with no experience.
  • All other Regions:
    • Preferred Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree
    • Preferred Work Experience (years): 3+ years work experience
