Overview

 

Directly supervises approximately 20-30 technicians providing electronics bench repair services for several different customers. Individual will receive objectives and goals from management and will exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to meet those objectives.  Must be able to guide, coach and direct others, creating a cohesive team.  Candidate must be able to provide accurate feedback/suggestions to management and timely feedback to team members for growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Learns and develops familiarity with and can operate within cost center budget boundaries.
  • Full knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, or other improvement disciplines.
  • Executes programs to drive continuous improvement processes designed to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Executes programs designed to develop the necessary staff skills and ongoing employee’s development.
  • Learns and develops familiarity with developing reports to analyze failure data in order to prioritize efforts for corrective action or process improvement.
  • Executes against department policies, procedures, and standards of behaviors to create an overall safe, organized, clean, ergonomic, and healthy work environment.
  • Executes against requirements of relevant governing regulations (i.e. OSHA) for topics such as accident investigation, injury reporting, fire safety, handling hazardous materials, emergency responding, ..).
  • Executes against requirements of all maintenance and calibration procedures.
  • Supports the proper disposal of scrap or other materials in environmentally safe manners.
  • Provides leadership in emergency situations such as building evacuations or in cases of employee emergencies.
  • Understands the goals, objectives, and priorities of other departments of the company and works to align repair goals along with those.
  • Full understanding and demonstrated behaviors in accordance with DACCA.
  • Demonstrated leader by example in terms of behaviors in accordance with ICARE, Be More, and other Zebra cultural values.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Preferred Work Experience (years):
    • 6 + years including minimum 1 year as team lead / supervisor
  • Key Skills and Competencies:
    • 6 + years’ experience in manufacturing/electronic repair/electronic assembly including a minimum 1 year as team lead/supervisor.
    • Good working knowledge of PC and applicable software such as MS-Word, MS-Excel, and Outlook
    • Knowledge of the principles of electricity and electronics.
    • Knowledge of solid state electronics and electronics testing equipment or electronic equipment design.
    • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance methods.
    • Knowledge of but not limited to: Soldering Iron, Volt/Ohm Meter, Common Hands Tools
    • Ability to instruct, direct, and evaluate employees.
    • Ability to apply basic electronic concepts and the properties and usage of electronic components
    • Ability to maintain records, prepare standard or technical reports and articles, as well as compose correspondence related to the work.
    • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
    • hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
