Overview

Under the direction of a Senior Product Validation Engineer or the Product Validation Manager, the Product Validation Engineer will create test plans and either implement these plans himself or lead the activities of Test Technicians in performing the work.  The Validation Engineer may operate and monitor devices under test, measure and record specific physical characteristics, communicate problems and unacceptable performance to appropriate parties. The Validation Engineer will analyze the accumulated data and prepare final reports.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Create test plans and test procedures based on marketing and/or engineering documentation for both qualification and development test projects.
  2. Design and build test equipment for the evaluation of engineering prototype devices.
  3. Verify that qualification test products are representative of the latest engineering designs as well as best manufacturing practices.
  4. Perform data analysis (using statistical and graphical methods) to ensure only accurate information is presented to design engineering personnel.
  5. Where appropriate, make use of formalized test definition and analysis techniques such as design of experiments (DOE) or failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
  6. Prepare accurate cost and time estimates of proposed test projects.
  7. Complete test projects in a timely manner adhering to established schedules.
  8. Maintain accurate and reliable records of test projects (including test plan, data, analysis, engineering communications, and final report)
  9. Prepare and issue final project reports.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree-Related Major 

 

Proficient with computers and experienced with spreadsheet and word processing programs

 

Effective oral and written communication skills

 

Good planning and organizational skills
