Directly supervise and coordinate activities of shipping, receiving, and stockroom with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and service. This position coordinates the movement of products both inbound and outbound through our network and working with outside carriers.  Individual will receive objectives and goals from management and will exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to meet those objectives.  Must be able to guide, coach and direct others, creating a cohesive team.  Candidate must be able to provide accurate feedback/suggestions to management and timely feedback to team members for growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse operations by coordinating, enforcing and improving operational policies and procedures.
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with inventory control system.
  • Ensure that customer’s delivery standards are met or exceeded
  • Develop and analyze metrics related to efficiency, cost, quality, and use this data to develop improvement initiatives
  • Train and develop members of the Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse team
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by inspecting equipment; issuing notice of repair needs and insuring housekeeping standards are met.
  • Coordinates all requirements (within Shipping, Receiving, and Stockroom) of Customer Service department to meet customer requirements for delivery and accuracy of RMA’s and shipments.
  • Maintains accuracy of inventory by cycle count, physical inventories, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and develop the Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse team to achieve departmental and Company goals in an environment of continuous improvement
  • Learns and develops familiarity with and can operate within cost center budget boundaries.
  • Full knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, or other improvement disciplines.
  • Executes programs to drive continuous improvement processes designed to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Executes against department policies, procedures, and standards of behaviors to create an overall safe, organized, clean, ergonomic, and healthy work environment.
  • Executes against requirements of relevant governing regulations (i.e. OSHA) for topics such as accident investigation, injury reporting, fire safety, handling hazardous materials, emergency responding, ..).
  • Provides leadership in emergency situations such as building evacuations or in cases of employee emergencies.
  • Understands the goals, objectives, and priorities of other departments of the company and works to align repair goals along with those.
  • Performs all normal supervisory functions, to include hiring, training, appraisal, counseling, and discipline.
  • Actively participates in all continuous improvement activities in logistics.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Preferred Work Experience (years):
    • 6 + years including minimum 1 year as team lead / supervisor
    • Previous experience in Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse supervision
  • Key Skills and Competencies:
    • 6 + years’ experience in manufacturing/electronic repair/electronic assembly including a minimum 1 year as team lead/supervisor.
    • Good working knowledge of PC and applicable software such as MS-Word, MS-Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to instruct, direct, and evaluate employees.
    • Ability to maintain records, prepare standard or technical reports and articles, as well as compose correspondence related to the work.
    • Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally, and externally with vendors, freight companies, and others.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and positive approach in dealing with problems
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and skill in interacting with all departments in a spirit of teamwork to meet company goals
    • High level of self-motivation and excellence orientation
    • Demonstrated record of success in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive demands
