  • Overview

    The Security Advisor maintains a safe and secure environment for employees by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for monitoring and guaranteeing a sound, ethical environment, and the ability to identify, investigate or resolve security breaches. This position requires technical knowledge and experience in security system design, installations and maintenance.


    • Develop and maintain Zebra security and asset protection programs including socially promoting these programs as part of the overall business culture.
    • Proactively oversee programs that relate to the organization’s duty of care towards its employees locally, regionally and while traveling.
    • Manage regional Security system applications and tools. Work effectively with security system installation and maintenance vendors.
    • Conduct on-site risk analysis and security assessments to identify and evaluate potential security risks to Zebra.
    • Conduct internal investigations into asset loss, thefts, acts of criminal misconduct, and violations of policy; act as point of contact with local and national law enforcement agencies in matters of security and asset protection.
    • Oversee regional contract guard security personnel.  
    • Provide in-depth analysis of the global security environment everywhere Zebra does business.
    • Serves as a key member of the site Crisis Management and Business Continuity Teams. Update plans as required.
    • Update and maintain the departmental website
    • Partner with Corporate Real Estate to identify security risks or safety concerns at existing or potential new office sites.
    • Plan and manage security support for company sponsored events. Provide protection to executives when required.
    • Responsible for maintaining and administering the security access control and CCTV systems.
    • Serve as a member of the site emergency response team for medial responses, evacuations and other emergencies.


    • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree.
    • 8-10 years of security management experience.
    • Experience providing leadership and oversight to indirect reporting personnel.
    • Crisis Management - Ability to respond to potential security threats and communicate to relevant populations appropriately.
    • Must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with all Security and other department team members. 
    • Must have the appropriate character and discretion to maintain confidentiality in all areas of the business, both personal and professional.
    • Experience with incident management platforms, travel tracking and emergency mass notification communication tools.
    • Experience working for/with security integrators, and/or security guarding partners.
    • Understanding of network interfaces and communications.
    • Experience with basic HTML, MS SharePoint, Crystal Reports and SQL databases.
    • Experience with enterprise-grade physical security systems including access control and video surveillance management.
    • Experience managing projects and overseeing budgets.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
    • Experience with Lenel 1000/2000; Certification is a plus.
    • Ability to travel regionally as needed.
