    The Hauppauge, NY location is part of Zebra’s Retail Solutions division. This is a 24/7 facility that provides solutions that enable retailers to conduct self-directed in-store inventory operations. The company’s innovative cloud-based Software-as-a-Service solutions deliver significant cost savings, improved accuracy, greater control, and real-time web-based analytics over competing methods of physical inventory management.

     

    The Data Center Operations Technician maintains data center systems, processes client file requests, and provides level 1 support of client systems. The technician installs and supports PC hardware and software, manages assets, and provides appropriate documentation. This position will include: Friday and Saturday 5PM to 1AM. Additional hours are available to cover open shifts mid-week.

    Responsibilities

    This position will be responsible for:

     

    Maintenance of network schedule

    File processing

     Limited desktop support

    Basic networking maintenance

    Level 1 Data Center maintenance

    General application support

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs basic troubleshooting on software.
    • Restarts application servers. Performs system monitoring and responds to system messages per shift.
    • Troubleshoots client backup issues while keeping in compliance with corporate standards.
    • Provides regular status reporting (oral and written).
    • Ensures that requests for IS assistance (telephone, email, or direct) are responded to in a timely, courteous fashion.
    • Assures coverage during appropriate hours.
    • Provides first-call troubleshooting and resolution for simpler, repetitive issues (hardware, software, network, communications, and security) according to current target levels as defined by annual performance plans.
    • Provides customer follow up to assure quality and timeliness of problem resolution.
    • Assures problems are escalated appropriately. Maintains a high level of attention to security issues including passwords, access rights and privileges, confidentiality, as well as viruses and other threats.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • AS degree, MCDST, MCTS, MCSA, and A+ certifications preferred
    • IT/Desktop Support experience required
    • Server/infrastructure support experience preferred
    • Strong Knowledge of PC related hardware and software, desktops, laptops
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Operating systems
    • Strong customer focus and customer service skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Good troubleshooting skills
    • Flexibility with hours preferred
