  • Overview

    The Global Director of Vertical Strategy for retail leverages his / her deep experience and expertise in the Retail industry and passion for technology to guide Zebra’s strategy and execution in the Retail market. The ideal candidate combines a strategic mindset with an inclination towards influencing stakeholders and driving results. The Vertical Practice Leader - Retail is a crucial part of ensuring that Zebra remains relevant to our Retail customers and partners on a global basis over the long term. 

    Responsibilities

    • Leadership and facilitation of Zebra’s Strategy of Record for Retail, including strategy development, ongoing strategy evolution, driving operational alignment, etc.
    • Identifying and driving key initiatives in support of core business growth, new solution development, go-to-market strategies, and adjacent market development.
    • Driving Zebra’s internal community (product, sales, marketing, etc.) and external ecosystem (customers, resellers, software partners, etc.) toward achieving strategic goals
    • Acting an Zebra’s industry thought leader, evangelist and company spokesperson

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred
    • Minimum 15+ years experience in strategy, business development or market development
    • Ideal candidate will have experience working for a leading Retailer in IT or operations and as a contributing industry expert to though leadership organizations and associations
    • Ability to act as the corporate spokesperson / evangelist for Zebra in the industry, including speaking at events and interfacing regularly with media for interviews
    • Extensive experience developing executive-level business cases for investments in new solutions, segments or use cases
    • Collaborative, dynamic leader able to drive change in an established company; ability to manage through influence in a matrixed environment
    • Exceptional communication skills – both written & verbal – with demonstrated ability to influence executives
    • Creative problem-solver with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to leadership
    • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
    • Ability to build cross-functional consensus; lead by example in driving partnership initiatives
    • Significant global travel (25%+) required on a business-needs basis
