  • Overview

    The Director Corporate Strategy will report to the VP-Corporate Strategy and will be responsible for the planning, execution and successful implementation of strategic initiatives across the company.   The individual in this role will work closely with leaders across Zebra’s businesses, taking projects identified and prioritized through Zebra’s strategic planning through a systematic process from scope definition and alignment through proposal and execution.  He/she will get operational and strategic support from the VP - Corporate Strategy and tactical support from the Corporate Strategy Advisor.  This is a highly collaborative role with significant interactions with leaders across Zebra’s business units and functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Zebra Strategic Initiative Leadership
      • Lead and direct assigned strategic initiatives and programs which result from annual corporate strategic planning effort
      • Interview stakeholders and get alignment on initiative objectives and scope
      • Develop project approach by leveraging internal best practices
      • Make final decisions on project-related activities – meetings, workshops, studies, etc.
      • Ensure clear hand-off to execution leaders where appropriate
      • Track and report success metrics for the most complex active projects
      • Provide updates to stakeholders and team members on a regular basis to ensure on-going alignment
      • Gain support / approval for the final proposals through presentations to Zebra leaders
    • Manage dynamic list of potential strategic initiatives
      • Acts as a partner to businesses by defining needs and scope for complex, potential future projects
    • Direct the development and communication of strategic plans by vertical
      • Work with the vertical marketing strategists to develop and update vertical strategy plans of record
      • Drive alignment to these plans through work with the related functions, BU’s and regional organizations
    • Drive other corporate strategy initiatives as needed
    • Ensure related internal and external strategy communications needs are delivered

    Qualifications

    • 15+ years experience 
    • Experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm and/or in a strategy function in a corporation is preferred
    • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through successful execution, including project approach, event planning and leadership, follow up, and communications
    • Fast learner, with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills
    • Proven success in creating strong working relationships with business leaders on various levels and experience working in a matrix environment
    • Self-starter, collaborative team player with a hands-on, get-it-done attitude and strong work ethic
