    This position reports to the Vice President of Global DC operations at Zebra Technologies Inc.


    This critical role directs and manages the Control tower team and is accountable for overall DC Operations for Zebra Technologies’ North American Distribution Center partnering with a 3rd Party Logistics firm.  



    The role has responsibility and is measured for achieving Cost, Quality and Delivery KPIs in support of Zebra’s Customers.   


    • Other responsibilities include: overall control of planning, staffing levels, budgeting and managing priorities.
    • Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
    • The role is responsible for final decisions on operational matters and ensures the operation is effective in achievement of all of its goals and objectives.
    •  Working with external partners to establish the criteria to achieve/exceeds customers’ expectations for a quality product. Providing the vision and the goals for the organization to achieve these goals.
    •  This individual in active collaboration with the 3rd party logistics supplier will develop, propose and implement plans to drive best-in-class continuous improvement to the overall DC operations via an operations excellence initiative such as Lean Six Sigma.
    • Provide the direction and vision of what the operation should look like and demonstrate how the operations should interact with both internal partners and our customers.
    • Ensures all levels of the organization are accountable for the parts which they control. Set the standards by which all of the groups are able to measure their success and areas of improvement.
    • Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
    • Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
    • Problem solving requires assessment of intangibles and identification and evaluation of strategic issues. Integrates functional, managerial, and business knowledge and expertise to develop and meet objectives.
    • Requires ability to assess and respond effectively to issues faced by subordinate managers and to coach subordinate managers regarding human resources, budget, and goal attainment issues
    • Works closely with executive management within own function or division and/or high level external stakeholders.
    • Negotiates resolution of critical issues. Advocates for unusual or creative solutions to functional or divisional issues



    Preferred Education:    

    • Bachelor's Degree or Engineering Degree 


    Preferred Work Experience:  

    • 15 years of experience in Supply Chain Operations with 10 years of experience in managing an internally run Distribution Center or 3PL outsourced Operation. 


    Key Skills and Competencies: 

    • Demonstrated expertise and experience in Lean 6 Sigma and driving positive change management in Operations. 
    • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP functionalities.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Operations, sound knowledge of other Supply chain functions and their interactions, and sound knowledge of overall business strategies and corporate goals.
    • Frequently requires special skills, such as negotiating with stakeholders or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of importance.
