    The role of Procurement Specialist will share responsibility for achievement of Zebra’s strategic business goals as it relates to Procurement.  The Procurement Specialist will have experience in driving down Total Cost of Ownership through negotiation in a complex Supply Chain environment.  Responsible for negotiating, coordinating, and assuring that assigned programs are purchased at the lowest possible cost. The person in this role will coordinate with several teams across Zebra and will interact with our most important suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements.  The role will work with Engineering, Product Management, and Supply Chain among others to achieve Best Cost at Launch initiatives for the organization.  The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, creative, and data driven thinker that can challenge the status quo to achieve the best result for the business.  The position will interact with senior levels of the organization and shall exhibit good communication and presentation skills.


    • Continuously focus on reducing the total cost of goods within their commodity, by applying an innovative, experienced approach to strategic sourcing methodology.
    • In-depth knowledge of component manufacturing processes and design rules for Consumer and/or Industrial electronic devices.
    • Manage successful cost negotiations with strategic suppliers.
    • Develop and maintain an understanding of industry supplier options and continuously monitor sourcing and technology trends.
    • Working directly with business stakeholders, designs a wide variety of moderately complex reports and some complex reports using data from one or multiple systems to specifications. Delivers report in format to aid stakeholders outside the functional area (powerpoint, PDF, etc)
    • Understanding of key component cost drivers and a history with use and development of Clean Sheet tools.
    • Ability to develop negotiation strategies with key suppliers to deliver results within a unique business environment.
    • Work within category sourcing strategies as established by the Global Category Managers to negotiate with Direct EMS/JDM partners to optimize Product Costs.
    • Work with the broader Zebra team to establish Cost Targets in support of the Product Business Case.

      • Bachelor’s degree
    • Preferred Work Experience (years):
      • Minimum 7 years
    • Key Skills and Competencies:
      • Working knowledge of component manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment
      • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
      • Supplier management and engagement experience
      • Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
      • Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced skills
      • Can present data in a visually compelling format to help business stakeholders understand the issues, possibilities and recommendations
