    Innovation & Design

    The Innovation & Design team is part of the Design Management Office working across Zebra business units to deliver both strategic customer focused vision and detailed design implementation. Our team is a recognized leader in solution design with studios in Holtsville NY, Chicago, London and Taipei. The team includes industrial design, user interaction design, front end development, customer design research and human factors. Our customer research and analysis are highly valued at Zebra and is a strategic component of our business strategy.


    As a User Experience Researcher you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing customer-focused information and then working directly with the product development teams to ensure that the voice of the customer is translated into successful product solutions.  You will be responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting on user-centered design research and usability testing, including identification of user needs and goals, task and workflow modeling, ethnography and persona development as well as rapid iterative usability testing, and more formal, in-depth testing. A successful User Experience Researcher must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.

    • Conduct research on customer workflow operations and prepare descriptive reports identifying issues and opportunities.
    • Work with other researchers and designers to build our knowledge base around customer issues and opportunities.
    • Work with project business representatives and design team to validate solution requirements using heuristic/qualitative methods.
    • Determine user needs workflow requirements for both hardware and software solutions by conducting task-focused analyses.
    • Work with UI/UX designers to test proposed interface look & feel.
    • Coordinate, conduct and moderate brainstorming sessions


    • Experience in usability test moderation, participant recruiting/screener creation, selection of test methods, meeting facilitation, qualitative analysis, reports and presentations.
    • Experience engaging with multi-disciplinary teams to determine needs and develop relevant solutions.
    • MA/MS in related UX Research field
    • Confident, collaborative and self-motivated

      • Required Education & Experience for experienced candidate: BS degree and 1+ year experience in engineering
