    The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing world-class to Mechanical Engineering Analysis & Services (MEAS) customers and business partners. Focusing on proactive predictive front-end trouble shooting via mechanical simulations while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Working with program and engineering teams as a mechanical analyst to highlight problem areas and make corrective action recommendations. Working closely with engineering, quality, sustaining engineering, Joint Design Manufacturers (JDM), Electronic Manufacturer Services (EMS), and other multi-functional teams. Be a role model in projecting and applying Zebra core values (Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability, Agility and Innovation).


    Basic Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Perform mechanical analysis of rugged handheld scanners, mobile computers, tablets and related items. Given CAD models be able to generate proper FEA model, Process and Post-Process using Abaqus and Hyperworks tools.
    • Be able to perform hands on stress and vibration analysis and solve complex engineering problems independently.
    • Clear and concise verbal and written communication, strong motivation to succeed, and self-direction are required.
    • Understands customer needs and reflects those needs in the support provided.
    • Develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
    • May develop new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of problems. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.
    • Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
    • Mitigate and solve issues as they arise.
    • Ability to embrace innovation and technical excellence.
    • Be an ideal team player and take proactive initiatives. 


    • Completion of assigned mechanical analysis within the agreed time frame

    Bachelor’s degree and 4+ year experience or master’s degree and 2+ year experience in Engineering discipline
    4+ years preferably in electronics industry
    • Solidworks
    • Creo
    • Mold Flow analysis
    • Injection molding
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
