  • Overview

    Looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering with relevant work experience on rugged handheld and fixed mount opto-electronic products with a knowledge of ruggedized packaging for mobile computers and accessories. 

     

    Ideal candidate should have experience designing, and an understanding of the manufacture of injection molded plastics, Zinc/Aluminum/Magnesium die cast parts, and precision sheet metal parts. Understanding and experience in tolerance analysis, risk assessment, and DFx (DFA/DFM) is required. CREO part/assembly design and drafting is required as CAD data will need to be reviewed and updated.  Knowledge of opto-mechanical design, structural FEA, and working in a JDM design model is desirable.

     

    Candidate will be responsible for identification and implementation of mechanical cost reductions across the entire EMC product portfolio to predefined financial targets.

    Responsibilities

    • Support Cost Reduction efforts from:
      • Commodity Management vendor moves/initiatives.
      • Design to Value reviews/efforts.
      • Service reviews/efforts.
    • Proactively identify cost reduction opportunities for released product across the entire EMC portfolio.
    • Work with JDM partners and suppliers to design/fabricate/test/release cost reduced designs.
    • Responsible for institutionalizing cost avoidance strategies for new product developments.

    Qualifications

     

    • Required Education & Experience- Mechanical Engineering, BS degree,
    • Required Experience : 1+ year experience in Mechanical Engineering
