The Contract Management Senior will provide support on procurement contracts and other legal matters that support internal operations. The job provides guidance on a range of contracting matters primarily focused on domestic and international contracts for goods and services supporting the corporation, including hardware, software and a range of professional services. Partners with procurement and business clients to improve, implement, and institutionalize Zebra’s contract review and tracking process. This job uses initiative and discretion in accomplishing up to moderately complex assignments, leads projects, performs up to moderate risk/impact tasks as an authority in his/her area of responsibility, and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish work goals with minimum supervision.
Strong teammate with a proactive approach who can work autonomously. Willing to absorb information and develop new skills and areas of expertise quickly, in a fast-paced environment. Able to support multiple partners and contending priorities.
Performs routine legal work in area of responsibility, including anticipating, analyzing and articulating legal issues, drafting documents, and providing recommended solutions with supporting documentation on legal matters of up to moderate complexity/risk for in-house attorney review.
Partner with business clients on contracting matters with the objective of mitigating associated legal risks.
Negotiate and draft contracts for the procurement of a wide range of goods and services.
Translate understanding of business objectives and strategy into redline recommendations of standard and non-standard contracts.
Supports policy review, development and drafting.
Supports improvements to contract templates.
Anticipate legal issues to proactively meet client needs.
Reviews basic agreements in areas of responsibility and flags non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as internal company policies and procedures to in-house attorney.
Possesses basic knowledge of Zebra’s business units/ functions, as it relates to his/her area(s) of responsibilities.
Work on special projects and initiatives, as needed.
College degree required.
Minimum of 5+ years of in a corporate/in-house setting balancing contract negotiations for commercial procurement transactions.
Confirmed experience handling legal documents.
Strong business insight.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure with aggressive deadlines, in a complex environment.
Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
Able to work collaboratively across offices in different countries and across departments.
Ability to lead assigned projects to closure with minimum supervision, and the judgement to know when to ask questions and advance issues.
Exposure to international legal issues a plus.
Exposure to technology business and legal issues a plus.
