  • Overview

    Manage Operations projects for a number of business areas including Supply Chain, Service, Product Development, Marketing, Sales and Human Resources. Projects may include Supply Chain and Services restructuring efforts, and Business Process Improvement and Optimization across numerous functions in the Corporation, including Service Operations (Repair, Tech Support, etc), Marketing/Branding, Human Resources, Sales and Customer initiatives. Some, light Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures work also materializes from time to time.  Comfortably act as a liaison between IT and the business with a solid understanding of IT.

    Responsibilities

      1. Own and Manage transformational projects designed to improve business systems efficiencies, reduce costs, improve effectiveness of Product Development, Supply Chain, Distribution, Sourcing, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Culture, HR and corporate functions.
      2. Research and identify Best-In-Class strategies, processes, and organizational structures to allow the organization to implement and maintain effective operations.
      3. Develop system requirements as needed to implement systems to support the projects and processes.
      4. Proactively manage major and minor projects, including hands-on management of cross-functional activities and deliverables, and management of inter-dependencies with other projects. Teams include Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Sales, Marketing, HR and corporate functions.
      5. Manage cross-functional, diverse teams in a matrixed environment with participants in numerous locations, across multiple time zones, including overseas and third-party teams and individuals.
      6. Manage both Business and IT involvement in above projects, coordinating operational efforts with systems technologies.
      7. Develop comprehensive Project Plans including the key deliverables, resources, system cutovers and timelines required to achieve success.
      8. Identify, secure and manage resources and budgets to effectively execute the project.
      9. Perform Risk Management to identify and resolve Risks and Issues during Planning and as they arise throughout the project.
      10. Drive the establishment of other worldwide organization and physical infrastructure to support processes.
      11. Capture and communicate project status to teams and management, including Senior Leadership, on a weekly basis.
      12. May manage a few large projects or numerous smaller complex programs with cross-functional teams in numerous locations and timezones which will require a flexible work schedule and possible weekend cutovers.
      13. Oversees formulation of the strategy development, project proposal creation, and ensures alignment between teams.
      14. Provides expertise of the business processes supported by IT solutions in at least one of the following functional areas: Transportation, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, Professional Services, Repair Operations, Contract Management, Case Management, & Knowledge Management.
      15. Works directly with the business, information technology user groups and contracted service providers to assess and prioritize needs by way of the established EQA processes.
      16. May handle RFP proposals with procurement for third party solution providers.
      17. Ensure each project has a defined Scope, Objective and Approach documented include Organizational Change Management strategy.
      18. Oversees and reviews deliverables required during each tollgate (phase) of a project.
      19. Conduct tollgate assessments create documents as required and assist with business benefit analysis.

       

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree preferred
    • 8-12 years experience including minimum 2 years as team lead/supervisor
    • Intermediate to advanced communication and facilitation skills. Formal training preferred
    • Intermediate to advanced presentation skills. Demonstrated comfort in presenting to mid to senior level cross functional audiences
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of advanced concepts with project management approaches, tools and methodologies. PMP certification preferred
    • Intermediate to advanced skills in PC based documentation tools including MS Office and MS Project
    • Intermediate to advanced skills in delegation and follow up
    • Fairly "expert" in the business function and processes in which the program is operating. Can use business/process expertise to identify potential issues, challenge assumptions and effectively participate in solutions discussions. Able to use this knowledge in status updates and presentations, and provide clarifying information where necessary
