The Global Trade Compliance team is responsible for supporting all business functions related to the Company’s cross-border transactions.  The Trade Compliance Supervisor is a key player in Global Trade Compliance, working closely with the rest of the trade compliance team, including other specialists, advisors, and managers, as well as with Zebra Supply Chain and Operations and other internal and external partners and stakeholders.



  • The Trade Compliance Supervisor manages a team of Trade Compliance Specialists, shaping and helping to execute Trade Compliance objectives while supporting the team’s career growth and development. 
  • Responsible for overseeing day-to-day import and export compliance responsibilities and implementing continuous process improvements while supporting Supply Chain.
  • Develops and improves trade compliance processes; applies experience and advanced research skills to update and maintain written procedures.
  • Oversees and manages systems and trade data management, e.g., HTS, ECCN, and COO, and enhancement projects on behalf of Trade Compliance; establishes and supports execution of the processes for maintaining trade compliance elements in databases.
  • Contributes to creation of rules in Global Trade Management (GTM); supports the release of export compliance holds in GTM and serves as a superuser for GTM and other trade compliance tools.
  • Conducts research and reports on regulatory and policy changes impacting the business to stakeholders
  • Selects customs brokers and supports Trade Compliance Specialists’ management of brokers and other service providers, e.g., classification services.
  • Establishes policies and procedures for import and export recordkeeping.
  • Conducts import and export compliance reviews, as required.
  • Interfaces on a regular basis with various levels of stakeholders to ensure full support of the Company’s operations and supply chain.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law or International Trade preferred, in lieu of degree applicable and relevant work experience will be considered
  • 5 + years of trade compliance experience, including working with customs brokers, and experience with import or export laws and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel required
  • Export license application experience (including commodity classification determinations, commodity jurisdiction, sanctions work, etc.) preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Supervisory/management experience is highly preferred
  • 10% travel
